Gaslight Criterium Cycling Clinic

Meet at the Kent ISD parking lot at 2:45 p.m. for check in. Instruction begins at 3 p.m. sharp. We will practice several elements of criterium racing benefitting all categories of cyclists – men, women, and juniors. There will be introductory information for cyclists new to criterium racing, more advanced crit practice for the seasoned bike racer, and help with junior gearing as well. If you know of any one who has been interested in bike racing, but too nervous to give it a try, tell them to show up! Come and learn some new things, gain some confidence on the bike, and give racing a try the next day at the Delta Subaru Gaslight Criterium in downtown East Grand Rapids!
Following the instruction and practice at Kent ISD, there will be an optional ride to the Gaslight race course for a few laps of on-course instruction, and to familiarize riders with the actual course. This is a great way to get comfortable with the course dynamics prior to the race. We’ll return to Kent ISD at the conclusion of the clinic.
