Racing Experience (in years): First year running races. Two years racing in Triathlons and swimming events as an adult. Cycling 33 years off and on. Wait,
33 years makes me sound old.
Bike(s): Fuji RC Supreme and an old Schwinn Paramount from the 80's.
Favorite Race(s):
1. WAM – Make A Wish 300 miles bike tour is such an inspiring event to be part of. There are so many cancer survivors on this ride. This ride shows me you can do whatever your mind sets out to do. We are riding for the purpose of making kids dreams come true. I feel very humble to be around the families we ride for.
2. St Pete ½ marathon. I ran this race in memory of my grandfather in his home city. My son, who was named after my grandfather, was with me at the race. What a great first ½ marathon!
Hobbies: Yoga!
Why Do You Compete? Every time I compete in an event that I didn’t think I could do, it just thrills me to finish. Each event reminds me I can do anything if I want too. I enjoy being around the atmosphere of races and my teammates are the best! Go Pink! It’s not about winning, but about doing your best.
What's Your Most Embarrassing Race Memory? My first triathlon I had no idea what to do in transition between events. I lined up my running shoes on my towel before my cycling shoes. I accidently put my running shoes on for the bike portion. It didn’t take long for me to realize I needed to change shoes. 'Doh!
